Tulalip Gathering Hall Microgrid Project Management and Owner Rep Services
Powering resilience and community continuity through innovative microgrid solutions.
Säzän Group is currently providing pre-design and owner’s representative services to the Tulalip Tribes of Washington in support of a microgrid system for the Gathering Hall. This multi-use facility accommodates up to 1,500 people for ceremonies, community events, General Council meetings, and other gatherings. It will also serve as a place of refuge during major disasters, with emergency equipment storage and a commercial kitchen to support community needs.
The microgrid system will be constructed and installed in two phases. Existing infrastructure includes a 22 kW rooftop solar array, and this project will expand capacity with a new 240 kW-DC rooftop solar system and a 450kW/1,688kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Together with an existing diesel generator, the system will provide reliable, long-duration power for emergency response.
Säzän Group’s services include concept refinement and pre-design, followed by RFP development, contractor selection, and project management throughout construction. Our team is also supporting grant reporting and has developed a comprehensive project plan that includes stakeholder engagement, budget management, quality control measures, and ongoing monitoring.
A detailed time management plan is in place to keep the project on track for successful completion of the solar and BESS-enabled microgrid system by December 2026.
