Northern Arizona Healthcare, Verde Valley Medical Center MRI Buildout

This project highlights the importance of detailed planning and responsive engineering in healthcare environments, where technical complexity and operational continuity must be carefully balanced.
Säzän Group provided MEP engineering design services for the buildout of a new MRI suite within an existing shell space originally designed for future imaging equipment. While the space had been planned for an MRI, the installation presented several challenges that required careful coordination and precise engineering solutions.
The design scope included HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, lighting, and medical gas coordination to support the MRI system, as well as integration with shielding requirements and hospital infrastructure. One of the most complex aspects was the installation of the MRI itself, which involved navigating tight existing conditions and sequencing work to accommodate the size, weight, and magnetic field requirements of the equipment. Close collaboration with the contractor, equipment vendor, and hospital facilities team ensured the MRI was successfully delivered and installed with minimal disruption to ongoing hospital operations.
