Ground source heat pump and 100 kW solar PV array

This 50,000 SF outpatient clinic on an undeveloped site includes a variety of services including, dental and behavioral health.

The project will make reference to the Indian Health Service (IHS) A/E Design Guide as it relates to design standards and processes.

The Lummi Nation had a strong desire to incorporate sustainable design features and on-site renewable energy production into the project. The sustainable aspects involved a wide range of hands-on design elements, with an emphasis on healing and caring for the earth or “Mother Earth”. These design features are equivalent to LEED Silver.

We also provided solar photovoltaic (PV) design and grant application assistance for the US Department of Energy “Clean Energy Technology Deployment on Tribal Lands” grant, which was awarded for 100 kW rooftop solar PV array, and included workforce development training in coordination with GRID Alternatives and Spark Northwest. This project is designed to train 3-5 tribal members to participate in the installation, coupled with an energy monitoring dashboard located in the Lummi Wellness Center building lobby, to highlight real-time energy savings, solar energy generation, and environmental performance data
