East Kapolei Middle School, Environmental Consulting Services

Säzän Group provided environmental consulting services, which met the Hawaii Collaborative for High Performance Schools (HI-CHPS) standards, to Ferraro Choi Architects so a new middle school would conform with state regulation. The new East Kapolei Middle School was completed in several phases and upon completion, the middle school will accommodate 1,050 students.

Säzän Group fulfilled the role of the state’s HI-CHPS coordinator and contributed sustainable design expertise. As part of its official role, Säzän Group facilitated workshops to ensure the design team understood the state’s requirements, monitored the team’s progress, and provided construction administration support to ensure the requirements were fulfilled.
