Advanced laboratory infrastructure supports critical public health and environmental testing across Washington State.

The Washington Public Health Laboratories facility in Shoreline provides diagnostic and analytical services for the assessment and surveillance of infectious, communicable, genetic, and chronic diseases and environmental health concerns. Säzän Group provided MEP engineering, fire protection design, and construction administration services for a 35,000 SF addition. The expansion includes new radiation, shellfish, and water testing laboratories for the Environmental Laboratory Sciences Department, as well as administrative offices, training spaces, and a conferencing and media center.

The project is targeting LEED Gold certification, with energy-efficient design strategies and on-site renewable energy systems supporting the state's sustainability objectives. Säzän Group also prepared an Energy Life Cycle Cost Analysis for the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services.
