Washington State Public Health Laboratories provide diagnostic and analytical services for the assessment and surveillance of infectious, communicable, genetic, and chronic diseases and environmental health concerns.
Säzän Group is providing MEP engineering and fire protection design services, along with construction administration, to support a 35,000 SF addition that includes new labs for the Environmental Laboratory Sciences Department. This includes labs for radiation, shellfish, and water testing.
The project requires a minimum LEED Silver certification and is targeting LEED Gold. Along with energy efficiency measures, three alternatives of renewable energy (on-site PV) were evaluated. The team created an Energy Life Cycle Cost Analysis (ELCCA) for the State of Washington Department of Enterprise Services.
