
Hazel Heights Apartments
Säzän provided Electrical and Mechanical engineering design for three affordable housing apartment buildings for Central City Concern. Each four story building holds 92,000 SF of floor area with 153 total units. The apartments share a laundry, manager’s office, and community spaces.
The mechanical scope included:
- Cove heaters and exhaust systems for each unit
- Centralized domestic hot water systems
- Air Conditioning for common areas and offices
The electrical scope included:
- Power distribution
- Electrical utilities coordination
Designed on a limited budget, the number of living units was maximized and are easy to maintain, as the tenants will be trained to keep the building in working order. This objective was met through close coordination with the owner and project architect to provide repeatability of equipment types to reduce maintenance training, and allow easy access to equipment for future maintenance and replacement.
