Thomas is an Associate Principal with a focus on electrical design and lighting. His fascination with electrical engineering stems from the constant, modern evolution of technology—how systems have rapidly changed in the last few decades, how we apply electricity, and how we generate it. Thomas is committed to energy-efficient design and specializes in lighting control systems for energy management.
Electrical engineering runs in his family; he started working at his dad’s lighting design firm at a young age. After exploring several career choices, engineering was the discipline where he felt most comfortable. With 30 years in the industry, his expertise includes power distribution; fire alarm systems; nurse call systems; lighting controls for commercial and theatrical applications; lighting design, exterior, and sports arenas; construction coordination; and feasibility studies.
Thomas strives to be an excellent mentor to his teammates. He believes the power of knowledge is only helpful if it is shared. He applies this philosophy to his daily responsibilities, relaying his understanding of project goals from clients with his team to keep projects on track with the most relevant, efficient design solutions. This all culminates in his favorite part of his work: seeing a finished space and knowing that he contributed to the successful completion of the project.
