With more than 40 years of experience, Phil is an expert in plumbing design. His systems expertise includes automated building control systems; facility assessments and planning; medical and laboratory gas distribution systems; plumbing system investigation; engineering of piping, plumbing, and drainage systems; design-build fire protection specification and review; and testing hydronic systems. He is highly invested in improving the safety and efficiency of plumbing design and construction. In recognition of his contributions to the industry, he was recently named a Fellow by American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) International—an organization committed to improving the performance of plumbing and mechanical systems.
As an ASSE Chapter President, he has contributed to the development of multiple ANSI/ASSE standards. Phil has helped the development of several standards including ASSE Series 6000, the Professional Qualifications Standard for Medical Gas Systems Personnel, and ASSE Series 12000, the Professional Qualifications Standard for Water Management, and Infection Control Risk Assessment for Building Systems. The latter includes water quality and legionella mitigation.
In addition to his participation in ASSE, Phil is also Past Chapter President of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, and active in the American Society of Hospital Engineers and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).
