Niels is an Associate Principal specializing in electrical design and Fire Alarm Systems. He has more than 40 years of experience in the electrical engineering field, serving as a project manager and designer on various project types with a particular focus on local healthcare projects. He has made significant contributions to the firm in acquiring new work and developing and mentoring the next generation of staff.

Niels studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he holds a NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification, Level II, and is one of the first electrical project managers in Washington State to be certified as an Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) professionals. Niels approach is an evidence-based process to the design and construction of all settings that contribute to health, safety, and well-being, including measuring and reporting results. He has a long history of supporting private and community healthcare facilities, including several with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).

Niels is active in his community and a member of several industry organizations including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Section Member-Electrical, Healthcare, Building Fire Safety Systems, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and the Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering (WSSHE).
