Daniel joined Säzän Group’s Portland office in 2016 as a mechanical engineer. He quickly found a passion for delivering exemplary client service, working toward the successful delivery of public and private projects throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. In 2019, he was promoted to managing principal to guide teams and oversee the design process from conception through construction to post-occupancy field inspections. Today, Daniel is responsible for the overall performance of our Portland and Bend teams, nurturing growth throughout the region, and maintaining an office culture that promotes collaboration, creativity, and camaraderie.

A licensed Professional Engineer in six states including Oregon and Washington, Daniel manages all aspects of HVAC, plumbing-piping systems, electrical systems, lighting and low voltage systems, and construction administration. He is a Certified Assessor through the Oregon Department of Education and is active in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). He studied at the University of Rochester and began his engineering career working for firms in and around New York City.

Daniel thrives on solving the challenges of delivering systems that improve the indoor air quality of facilities, provide faster technologies for performance, and create safer, more efficient environments for occupants. He takes pride in knowing the work we do improves the communities in which we live through sustainable, cost-effective design solutions and appreciates the long-term partnerships with clients and project owners who share the same values.
