Dan is a project manager; a mechanical engineer licensed in California, Oregon, and Washington; and a commissioning agent with nearly twenty years of experience. Dan has a wide array of industry experience as a facilities owner and operator; a construction owner’s representative; a commissioning agent; an asset management expert; an HVAC design engineer; and an energy efficiency consultant. These experiences provide him with a unique perspective in the industry and the ability to forecast and solve challenging problems with practical solutions. Dan excels at existing building work and is known for his ability to dive into complex building systems and uncover energy-saving opportunities that improve performance. On new construction, Dan works hand in hand with the contractor, engineer, and owner team to minimize challenges through proactive project management to ensure the project is delivered per the project documents and that the system works from day one.

A California Polytechnic State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Dan remains engaged in several industry organizations, including the American Public Works Association (APWA) and SAVE International. Besides being a registered engineer, Dan is a Project Management Professional through PMI Institute, a Certified Assessor with the Oregon Dept of Education, a Certified Inspector with Washington OSPI, and has his PG&E Existing Building Commissioning Certification.

While working for the U.S. Navy, Dan received awards, including the Meritorious Civilian Service Award and the NAVFAC SW Award for Technical and Professional Excellence. Unsurprisingly, he has an avid love for the water and spends much of his free time sailing aboard Resolute on the Columbia River and bringing clients aboard while racing in our local waters.
