Kayla brings almost 10 years of experience in the commissioning industry, including three years in the oil and gas sector. Her portfolio spans more than 50 projects across K–12, higher education, commercial, and public market sectors—many of which pursued LEED, Washington Sustainable Schools Protocol, or Passive House Institute US certification. As a Certified Commissioning Professional and licensed mechanical engineer in Washington and Oregon, Kayla brings a deep technical foundation and a practical mindset to each project. She is adept at navigating the intersection of design and construction, often stepping into design reviews, energy audits, and facility condition assessments alongside her commissioning work. Known for her proactive approach, Kayla works to resolve issues before they become costly problems, always advocating for the Owner to ensure buildings are delivered efficient, functional, and ready for occupancy.
Kayla graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and stays active in the greater engineering community. She participates in various industry associations including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Association of Energy Engineers, and the Building Commissioning Association.
Kayla enjoys a day of golfing with friends, building a fun LEGO set, or taking in a show at the Oregon Symphony.
