Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Station (ARFF)
King County International Airport
A mission-critical facility, the new King County ARFF replaced an aging 5,000 SF facility with a 9,000 SF building emergency rescue facility at the King County airport in Seattle. The new facility has three vehicle apparatus bays, a fire watch/alarm room, medical decontamination room, gear and hose wash and drying room, first aid and medical storage, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) room, administrative offices, hose-drying facilities, dormitories, male and female locker rooms, kitchen, dining room, and exercise rooms.
Sustainable features include adhering to King County Green Building and Sustainable Infrastructure Guidelines.
This fast-track design and construction project meets FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant requirements.
