Säzän Environmental Services

In 2013, Säzän Group formed a new division, Säzän Environmental Services (SES), to expand our engineering and consulting service offerings by giving clients the ability to determine how their buildings’ HVAC systems are performing.

Through the expertise of our staff and their years of experience in the building industry, Säzän has developed a solid reputation in Commissioning and Test-Adjust-Balance services.

Commissioning
SES is an experienced Commissioning Authority that provides commissioning services directly to Owners. We commission HVAC, automation controls, ground-source heat exchange, plumbing, power, lighting, low-voltage, and renewable energy systems, including solar photovoltaics and hot-water heating systems for LEED and non-LEED buildings.
SES conducts commissioning as defined by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), Building Commissioning Association (BCA), and the LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning criteria. K-12 school building commissioning meets the criteria defined in the Washington Sustainable Schools Protocol (WSSP) E4.0 and E4.1 commissioning criteria. All our commissioning activities meet the requirements of the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC).

Test-Adjust-Balance
SES also provides Test-Adjust-Balance (TAB) services of HVAC and controls systems. We bring an in-depth understanding of how HVAC systems are designed to function in new and existing buildings. We utilize our TAB services and tools for new construction projects to ensure systems perform as designed, and to assess and evaluate HVAC systems in existing buildings prior to the starting design.
Our TAB team is fully supported by licensed engineers, technical staff, commissioning agents, and other consultants and disciplines, as needed, to meet each project’s requirements.

How we work
Our collaborative approach to commissioning and TAB services involves working closely with design engineers, building Owners, facilities staff, and tenants to optimize building performance.
Säzän includes the following activities, as agreed with the Owner, in executing commissioning services.

  • Design Phase Commissioning Activities
